My mom recently reminded me of a few crafts I did as a young child, and we tried them out with Evie. First, GaGa came over and helped us make the candy cane reindeer (and Evie scarfed down a whole candy cane in about two minutes!) A few dabs of glue and a couple twists of a pipe cleaner, and you have yourself a reindeer ornament! When we were kids, we made these and hung them on our tree. On Christmas morning, we were allowed to take them off and eat the candy canes!
The tree was very simple. I just cut it out from construction paper, and glued on the star and garland. Then I gave Evie the cut out ornaments and glitter glue. She lovingly "hung" the ornaments on the tree!

Last week we made wreaths out of construction paper, snow flakes, and Christmas bells out of plastic cups.
I LOVE the crafts you show here :) I am definitely making that candy cane craft with my daughter. She will love it! Of course, it may get tricky convincing her not to eat it first though.
Don't you think this is one reason why parenting is so great? As an adult, one never gets to do stuff like this.
I miss being creative and silly and spending 2 hours making something out of construction paper and glitter. Thank goodness I have Iain to drag along with me. I'll be all "It's fun!" and whether he agrees or not...we're doing it!

too cute! i love doing crafts :). although it's not really a craft, emma enjoyed icing the sugar cookies on cookie day. that's always fun to do. i think i might try the christmas tree one w/ her.
