Rejoice! Rejoice!

This morning, I already knew what I was going to blog about. I was going to post pictures of our beautiful Christmas tree and lights. That is, before I went to church, I already knew what I was going to blog about.

It is so easy to get lost in the "Santa" part of the season. I surely love the "Santa" part. I love the festive feeling in the air, the anticipation of good food and family and gifts. So I'll post the pictures of our tree another time.

But I have to be sure to make room for the "God" part of the season. That's the part that truly matters. We sang this song today, and it's beautiful. I'm glad I'm no longer waiting for a Savior. I can rejoice that He's come. God is with us.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory over the grave.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
shall come to thee, O Israel.
